TÜV SÜD Rail has increased its shareholding in Railcert B.V. from 50 to 100 per cent.

Railcert is a provider of testing and certification services for the rail industry that TÜV SÜD Rail founded together with the Movares Group in 1999, The acquisition underlines TÜV SÜD Rail's leading role as a partner in international rail projects.

TÜV SÜD as global partner to the lift industry

As the requirements of lift operators and users become increasingly complex, lift and component manufacturers are faced with the challenge of introducing innovative products to create distinctive profiles for their brands. Jürgen Merz is new Managing Director of TÜV SÜD Akademie GmbH

Twin leadership for TÜV SÜD Akademie: with effect from 1 September 2013, Jürgen Merz has been appointed Managing Director of TÜV SÜD Akademie GmbH and will join its other Managing Director, Jörg Schemat, in overseeing the Academy's business operations. Recent Developments Regarding Compliance With EN 300 328 V1.8.1

EN 300 328 is one of the most common standards used today in order to demonstrate compliance with Article 3.2 of the R&TTE Directive. It covers Wideband Data Transmission equipments operating in the unlicensed 2.4 GHz ISM band. Products typically covered by this standard include WiFi, Bluetooth and Zigbee devices. TÜV SÜD: favourable verdict after first roadworthiness test

Nine trucks, 3.24 million kilometres, three years – these are the parameters for bestof9.eu, the largest long-term truck test ever held in Europe.After one year, the trucks were presented for their first roadworthiness test.TÜV SÜD, the partner for safety issues in the bestof9.eu test, sums up the results of roadworthiness testing: apart from faults in lighting systems and sometimes noticeably diverging tyre inflation pressures, the test did not reveal any safety-relevant weaknesses.On top in terms of fuel economy at present is the New Actros (Euro 5) manufactured by Mercedes Benz, with consumption of 27.8 litres of diesel over
100 kilometres.
