TÜV SÜD Product Service exhibiting at this year’s Consumer Affairs and Trading Standards Conference and Exhibition

TÜV SÜD Product Service will be exhibiting at this year’s Consumer Affairs and Trading Standards Conference and Exhibition being held in Manchester on 26th-28th June 2012.

The Trading Standards Conference has built a huge reputation as a busy, informative and professional event. The combination of plenary sessions, mini-theatres, master classes and exhibition offers a fantastic opportunity to keep up to date on the latest developments.

TÜV SÜD Product Service will also be hosting a mini theatre on "Consumer Products- Managing Risk" on 27th June. The session will be presented by TÜV SÜD’s Retail Laboratory Manager, Mark Penton, at 9:30-10:00am in Theatre Number 3.

The presentation will look at the issues facing UK retailers who import consumer products manufactured outside the EU. It looks at the legal obligations for placing them onto the market and the responsibilities of both the importer and retailer. It reviews the risks associated with these products and the steps that can be taken to ensure that the risks are minimized and the issues such as complaints and returns better managed. The aim of the seminar is to help you protect yourself and minimise risks when importing these types of products.
