TÜV SÜD and CEPRI engage in strategic cooperation

The international service provider TÜV SÜD and the China Electric Power Research Institute (CEPRI) expressed their intention to cooperate at strategic level in the future. The two parties signed a contract to this effect in Beijing. CEPRI is a subsidiary of State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC), the operator of China's national electricity grid. The cooperation of the two parties will focus on certification and prototype testing, inspection and training in the field of wind power.

With a total installed capacity of 45,000 megawatts, China is one of the largest wind-power markets in the world. The installed capacity is expected to grow by a factor of ten by the year 2020. At the same time, China has moved up and become the world's leading manufacturer of wind turbines. As a research institute of SGCC, the operator of China's national electricity grid, CEPRI deals not only with wind power but with all types of energy from renewable sources and their integration into the supply grid. The institute supports the expansion of wind energy with scientific studies and technical services during the realization of specific projects.
