Why are fixed installations not ‘policed’ form of EMC point of view?
Fixed installations as defined in directive 2004/108/EC do have EMC guidelines for establishing compliance with the relevant essential requirements. The requirements are vague but never the less are included. Compliance is normally demonstrated by the use of a technical construction file incorporating evidence of good engineering practices during installation and ongoing maintenance, COTS equipment compliance, in-situ testing of both system components and whole installation boundary tests along with technical rationale for untested components or assemblies.
