Is the Machinery Directive applicable only to complete Machinery or also to its components like couplings, bearings?

If Yes, is it require to use/procure only such approved components for assembling machinery?
Who is responsible for the CE cert of individual components we use on our equipment - the supplier or ourselves?

If the individual components fall under the scope of a CE Marking Directive then they should be CE Marked. If you are buying these in, you should check that they come with the relevant documentation which you would place into your technical file. If you are producing the components, you would need to CE Mark the component and then CE Mark the machine.
