TÜV SÜD to test section of the MEGAL gas pipeline

On behalf of the Mittel-Europäische-Gasleitungsgesellschaft mbH (MEGAL), TÜV SÜD will carry out quality assurance in the construction of a new natural gas pipeline between Schwandorf and Windberg. The 72-kilometre route forms part of MEGAL's pipeline system and is expected to be placed into service in October 2012.

The MEGAL pipeline is part of the European natural gas pipeline system in Southern Germany. Natural gas from Eastern Europe and Russia can be injected into the European gas grid system at two import points – in Waidhaus and Oberkappel.
