Dr Peter Klein (55), CFO at TÜV SÜD AG whose responsibilities have included finance, controlling, M&A, procurement, IT and risk management since 2006, has informed the Supervisory Board that he did not want to extend his contract beyond April 2013.

TÜV SÜD organizes green commercial property and hotel summit in Shanghai

TÜV SÜD, a leading provider of testing, inspection and certification solutions, organized a green commercial property and hotel summit in Shanghai Tongji University. Experts from the government, science and research institutions, TÜV SÜD and Tongji University had an in-depth discussion with hotel owners and real estate investors on energy conservation. The discussion was focused on commercial property in the hotel industry, promoting energy efficiency measures and its potential cost savings. During the summit, TÜV SÜD signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlining the cooperation between the Sino-European Energy Building Training Research Center, Tongji University and TÜV SÜD to improve energy efficiency and talent development in China’s construction sector by combining Tongji University’s technical capacity and TÜV SÜD’s market experience.

TÜV SÜD: Scrappage scheme unable to stop further rise in fault rate

The 2013 TÜV Report to be presented in Berlin on 6 December clearly shows that the German government's car scrappage scheme caused the number of vehicles presented for roadworthiness testing in the second half of 2011 and the first half of 2012 to go up by more than 300,000. However, these relatively new vehicles were unable to stem the rising fault rate. The average rate of significant faults continued to grow by 0.3 percentage points to a total of 20 per cent, with lights still the most fault-prone area. The 'Golden Sticker' goes to the VW Polo, followed by the Mazda 3 and Audi Q5.

TÜV SÜD issues "IEC 61850 Conformance" certificate to Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen (MR)

At the SPS IPC Drives 2012 in Nuremberg, TÜV SÜD issued its first "IEC 61850 Conformance" certificate for a voltage regulator made by Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen (MR). By issuing the certificate, the international service corporation confirms that the TAPCON® 230 made by MR is in full compliance with the communication standard. MR is the international leading premium supplier of on-load tap changers (OLTC) for regulating transformers (TÜV SÜD: Hall 4, Stand 4-521; MR: Hall 3, Stand 3-138).
