CE marking training course gains major update


Since its launch in 2009, the TÜV SÜD Product Service training course, CE Marking of Consumer Products and Professional Electronics, has gone through multiple changes. However, as EU law has changed, several major topics have now been added and resulted in a major revision of the course.

CLP Regulation: the clock is ticking


Manufacturers and importers of chemical products have less than one year to implement the requirements of the new CLP Regulation.The transition period for implementing the new classification and labelling of chemical products will expire on 1 June 2015. The new rules will also impact significantly on the information provided in safety data sheets and on labels.

Swissi Process Safety now operating under the TÜV SÜD logo

To highlight its affiliation with TÜV SÜD, Swissi Process Safety GmbH will operate under the blue Octagon of the international technical services group and the addition 'A member of TÜV SÜD Group' in the future. TÜV SÜD acquired the Swiss company, which provides premium services to the process industry, one year ago to complement its portfolio of services for the pharmaceutical, chemical and process industries.

EN 300 328 V1.8.1 to be mandatory from 1st January 2015

EN 300 328 is one of the most common standards used today to demonstrate conformity with Article 3.2 of the R&TTE Directive. This standard covers Wideband Data Transmission equipment operating in the unlicensed 2.4 GHz ISM band, typically associated with WiFi (802.11b/g/n), Bluetooth and Zigbee devices.


On January 1st 2015, EN 300 328 V1.7.1 will cease to provide a presumption of conformity. EN 300 328 V1.8.1 is likely to be the only standard against which manufacturers can issue their Declaration of Conformity if they are to continue placing products on the EU market. An updated standard is currently being produced but it is unlikely to be published and cited in the EU Official Journal before the end of 2014.
