TÜV SÜD: favourable verdict after first roadworthiness test

Nine trucks, 3.24 million kilometres, three years – these are the parameters for bestof9.eu, the largest long-term truck test ever held in Europe.After one year, the trucks were presented for their first roadworthiness test.TÜV SÜD, the partner for safety issues in the bestof9.eu test, sums up the results of roadworthiness testing: apart from faults in lighting systems and sometimes noticeably diverging tyre inflation pressures, the test did not reveal any safety-relevant weaknesses.On top in terms of fuel economy at present is the New Actros (Euro 5) manufactured by Mercedes Benz, with consumption of 27.8 litres of diesel over
100 kilometres.
