Time and again, food scandals cause consumer confidence in food retailers to take a tumble. Be it rotten meat or mouse droppings in bread, food scandals should be avoided. While numerous hygiene checks ensure a high level of quality, one rotten apple can spoil the barrel. However, the leading cause of food-related diseases is still incorrect handling of food at home. Given this, consumers should be well aware of hygiene and the condition of food products – not only when shopping.
