TÜV SÜD: Anticipating icy roads and adjusting driving style accordingly

Heavy snowfall after a sharp frost is currently causing a particularly hazardous situation for traffic. When snow falls on ground which is perpetually frozen even during the day, it immediately turns to ice. A challenge for the road-clearing services, whose road salt mixes generally develop their thawing effect up to temperatures of around minus 20. As far as personal travel goes, this means replanning car trips or resorting to buses and trains. Drivers unable to avoid taking to the roads should take particular care, say the experts at TÜV SÜD.
